When Annie Phan ’27 heard about the amazing research opportunities offered to undergraduate students at Carthage, she knew she had to transfer here. A major in neuroscience with a minor biology, Annie stays actively involved as a member of the Neuroscience Club, the STEM Club, and Pre-Health Club. As a pre-health student, she aspires to go to medical school and eventually become a neurosurgeon. Annie praises Carthage for giving her the hands-on experience to help her reach her goals, “All the neuroscience classes here offer extensive lab work that really enhances the learning experience.”

“I suggest using the whiteboard method by writing down everything you know about a subject on a whiteboard! Also, make sure you’re studying daily; do not wait until the last minute.”

“Don’t be shy! Everyone here is friendly. It’s also good to be yourself and attend campus activities, like Carthage Activities Board events!”
